I’m still on the hunt for clothes that fit me on my slow but sure race back to my normal size. I got my September Stitch Fix in the mail yesterday and I need your opinions. What do I keep, what do I send back?
If you’re new to my blog and are thinking, “What the what is a Stitch Fix?” You can read more on a few of my earlier blogs where I explain a little more of what they provide. As a busy mom they have saved my butt on numerous occasions.
My note to my stylist Jen: “For my September Stitch Fix I’d like clothes for my ten year college reunion that is coming up. I’d like neutral colors, black, navy, white.”
Mavi Mylee Tulip Hem Skinny Jean ($98) Positives: I love the tuliped hem on the pant. It’s interesting and different. I love the fit. I love the length. Being the shorty that I am, it’s nearly impossible to find pants that fit properly.
I love that cigarette style pants are coming in style. I love these pants so much. They might even be the best thing Stitch Fix has ever sent me. Shout out to my stylist Jen! She gets me. Side note: they are not actually jeans, they’re more like normal pants, not denim. Which I also like and NEED. Negatives: None, there are none. They are just my new favorite pair of pants and I wish I could have one in every color. And even if all of you comment and tell me, “Talia, you look like a teeny-bopper, they make your ankles look fat.” I say to you, “then I like fat ankles.”
THML Chassie Textured Dress ($78) Positives: How darling is the neckline? I just love the sleeve/strap thingys. It’s a nice dress and feels pretty well made. I love the pockets. It’s flattering. And I just can’t get enough navy. Negatives: It’s a little small, but I’m still losing baby weight so it will eventually fit, right? Can I wear this in the fall/winter? I don’t know how. Can someone tell me how? Joe said leggings. I don’t think leggings.
Monoreno Abram Ribbed Sleeve Rider Jacket ($78) Positives: It fits. Negatives: This was my least favorite piece in the box. It just feels a little outdated. I still like the moto style, but not with the cloth sleeves. I got one from Stitch Fix two years ago that I loved, but just wasn’t feeling this one.
Daniel Rainn Coronado Crochet Detail Top ($74) Positives: Fits well. Pretty detailing. Great transitional piece as we go into fall. Easy to wear when it gets warmer during the day, but still can throw a jacket on. Negatives: Earth tones are just not my thing. I wish it was a bit longer. I’m undecided, thoughts?
Urban Expressions Adelade Woven Fold-Over Clutch ($48) Positives: My accessories collection is severely lacking. I think I have a wallet from five years ago, and a diaper bag that’s falling apart. Truly I need to do something. This would be something. It’s different, I really like the style. It would be great for the traveling I’m doing over the next month. Negatives: It looks kind of cheap. I’d rather pay more and have something that is durable and well made. I’m not crazy about the brown. I saw someone else online had it in black. I think I would be more inclined to keep it if it was black.
What do you think? What should I keep? What should I send back?

You look gorgeous! The dark blue dress can be paired with a jean jacket and tall boots or booties for fall and you can add tights for winter:) Miss you!

Alix! I don’t know why I didn’t think of tights until you and Courtney said it – so smart. What color though? Grey? Miss you too. Come visit me in Atlanta!:) xo
Alix Barrett says
Grey, black, or brown! Whatever color you choose, you could add the same color in a thin belt at your waistline since the dress tucks in there:) will definitely let you know if I’m Atlanta and y’all should come visit charleston – two Barrett girls and their dogs and significant others for one trip!

Awesome pants! But you knew that. 🙂 Dress is cute, love the color. Note: there is a very very similar one at target right now which I have in cherry red, but I’m pretty sure it’s in different colors online. I think the target dress neckline is more flattering than the double frills – reveals more decollate for a cleaner look up top. I’d skip the two tops; they look fine but I think you can fine more flattering colors. 🙂 hugs! Han

Jenny sent me the picture – so pretty! I’m going to go check out Target! I did have some credit still with them so the dress only ended up costing me $3, BUT I CAN HAVE TWO DRESSES!:) xo

Oh that’s awesome! I love store credit, it’s like shopping for free! Haha. 😉 I’m glad you got the pic. Yay!

Oh and for the price of the clutch, you can find something that looks more expensive and classy. It’s hard to tell if it’s real leather.
Talia Bunting says
It is not real. Booooo.

I love these posts

Sorry I pushed send too soon! Love the first two and I think tights with a flat would be great for winter. Also the lavender shirt is cute but the color doesn’t pop on you and for that price I wouldn’t keep it.
Talia Bunting says
Thanks Courtney:) Tights and flats is a great idea. That is what I will do. You are the winner. Thank you!

“Then I like fat ankles” – LOL.
NO leggings with that dress!
I would send back the last three things.
Love you.
Hope.

Agreed! Adorable pants and dress and the last three not as great. I wish I could go to the reunion to see you and your stylish self! On the upside there’s a good chance we’re making a stop in Atlanta next summer!
